Across South Africa, Rwanda, Burundi, and Kenya, the Rhiza Foundation supports community-led programs in education, healthcare, and livelihood. We support projects that strengthen local capacity, expand access to essential healthcare services, and create practical pathways to income, employment, and self-employment.
Healthcare
We support projects providing access to preventive care, early disease detection, and essential medical services through mobile and fixed Mpathy clinics and partnerships with local Ministries of Health.
Program locations: South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda, and Burundi
Education
We support projects that equip school directors with training, tools, and mentorship to strengthen Early Childhood Development (ECD) and improve local education quality by increasing teacher skills. We also support the innovative Side Hustle program, which encourages entrepreneurship and economic independence.
Program locations: South Africa, Kenya, and Rwanda

Livelihoods
We support projects that equip individuals with practical, in-demand skills to unlock employment and entrepreneurial opportunities, fostering sustainable livelihoods. This might look like:
- a robotics program in schools
- agripreneurship initiatives to foster profitable and dignified careers in farming
- supporting small businesses with the tools, funding, and mentorship needed to grow, create jobs, and drive local economic development
Program locations: South Africa and Burundi
