Our mission is to foster empowerment and sustainable growth by funding community-led initiatives in education, healthcare, and livelihoods. Our aim is to nurture thriving communities and cultivate opportunities for every individual to flourish.
How We Work
The Rhiza Foundation is a volunteer-led, US-based nonprofit collaborating globally to fund life-changing programs implemented by Rhiza Babuyile in South Africa and Rhiza Ventures in East Africa.
We focus on three core areas to empower individuals and build thriving communities:
- Education: Early Childhood Education, Side Hustle Program, and Financial Management
- Healthcare: Mobile and fixed Community Health Clinics
- Livelihood: Skills Development, Entrepreneurship, and Agriculture
Since 2010, Rhiza International has been driving lasting social impact, equipping underserved communities with the tools and opportunities they need to flourish. The Rhiza Foundation is part of the Rhiza International network—organizations in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Kenya, South Africa, and the US.
Rhiza Foundation monitors and exercises control over its grants to ensure funds are used in accordance with agreed charitable purposes and applicable nonprofit requirements. While each Rhiza organization is its own legal entity, we share core commitments and vision.
